Selectboard says town plan nearing finish but energy plan delay stalls finalization
Summary
Staff told the board the town plan is nearly complete but the energy plan from regional planning remains outstanding; the board requested maps and conservation/land-use clarifications because available developable land is limited.

The town plan review is near completion, staff reported, but the energy plan — which must be reviewed by regional planning — has been delayed for several months, putting the Selectboard's schedule behind. Staff asked regional planning for acreage breakdowns (conserved land, wetlands, floodplain, forest/habitat blocks and developed acreage) so the town plan can accurately project future developable land.
Board members asked regional planning for a hard-copy map showing constraints and asked the planning contact (Hannah Andrews) to produce data on total acreage, conserved acreage, current-use acreage and remaining developable land. Staff said they are targeting mid-March completion so the town plan can meet statutory requirements and go through the two required public hearings and final sign-off later in the spring.
