Caleb Magoon called the Lamoille County Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. and the Board opened a public hearing on the Draft 2026 Regional Plan after a motion from John Sunderland and a second from Jeff Tilton; the motion carried.
Meghan Rodier reported the commission had received a final pre-application letter from the Vermont Land Use Review Board (LURB) the previous Monday and said the LURB's major concern was Environmental Justice. Rodier told the Board that the Regional Plan Committee had conducted broad outreach to municipalities during the update and had added an Environmental Justice appendix patterned on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission's approach to address the LURB's feedback. Seth Jensen provided background on the regional-plan process and Alec Jones discussed required minor revisions to Future Land Use maps to meet the LURB’s concerns.
Rodier and staff noted there are a few minor tweaks to the Stowe and Morristown sections that are being addressed before further action. Valerie Valcour moved to close the public hearing; John Sunderland seconded and the motion carried. The record shows staff will incorporate the LURB-requested Environmental Justice material and map edits ahead of subsequent steps in the plan-adoption process.
