LCPC approves $1M resolution to support Wilcott community wastewater project

The Lamoille County Planning Commission voted to approve a resolution supporting the Wilcott community soil-based wastewater project, an application that staff said is seeking roughly $1,000,000 in grant funding to address systems that backed up during July 2023 flooding.
Tasha Wallace (LCPC staff) described the project and its relation to recent flood damage and asked the board to approve the resolution. The motion was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. Chair Caleb Lagoon noted staff will sign the resolution and record the affirmative vote for the grant application process.
Staff said each project includes a project-delivery allocation for staff administration; specific lead staff were identified for each project. The board did not raise substantive objections and the resolution passed. The project will now proceed to the state application process.
