The Selectboard approved purchase of the Meridia town voting clicker system used at Town Meeting (motion passed 5/0/0). Town Administrator Trish Waugh said the system had been used at this year’s Town Meeting and asked the board to authorize purchase; the motion carried unanimously.
Trish also reported that the Transfer Station received official certification on March 20 and began household trash service on April 4. She said concerns remain about the closed landfill and that staff will either locate necessary closure/testing records or arrange for required testing and closure plans. The board instructed Trish to post two weeks’ notice for rate increases and to confirm with the hauler, Acker, whether increased fees were being collected pending the posting. Trish noted wood chips are needed for the food scraps building and asked the highway crew for assistance delivering chips as available.
The board approved accounts payable and payroll warrants that included a $1,800 invoice for tree removal and other routine line items.
