Selectboard approves GMP access permit, reviews culvert and equipment updates, and discusses Rest Haven turnaround

The Selectboard heard road and bridge updates from Road Foreman Josh Dryden and approved a driveway access permit requested by Green Mountain Power.
Dryden reported that fuel tanks will be delivered and that the town is coordinating placement and removal of old tanks with the State; the town’s truck and excavator remain under repair and the Winhall Station culvert has arrived. Taylor Prouty said he met with Henry Carr about tree removal and ditching on Boynton Road; depending on cost, excavating work may be put out to bid.
The board approved Driveway Access Permit No. 2025-04 for Green Mountain Power, contingent on receipt of the required fee, and authorized the Chair to sign. The board also discussed building a turnaround on Rest Haven Road: Dryden proposed a turnaround 30 feet past the Class 3 road end, with the highway crew to gravel 620 feet and maintain the turnaround year-round; tree removal would occur on the Hodge property and the Town Attorney will draft an informal easement for owner signatures. Adjacent property owners present indicated approval to proceed.
No formal vote was recorded for the Rest Haven turnaround at this meeting; the GMP permit and other administrative road items were approved by unanimous motions.
