Selectboard approves bids to replace highway fuel tank and signs letter of intent for municipal roads grant

The Board accepted bids to replace an aging underground fuel tank with a 2,000-gallon above-ground tank (Beardsley, $25,454.73; Hunter Excavating removal, $24,874.00), and approved a Letter of Intent to participate in the SFY26 Municipal Roads Grants-in-Aid Program.
Road Foreman Josh Dryden told the Selectboard the existing underground fuel tank has reached the end of its service life and recommended replacement by a 2,000-gallon above-ground tank. The Board accepted Beardsley, Inc.'s bid for tank supply, installation and electronic recording console at $25,454.73 and accepted Hunter Excavating’s bid for removal of the existing tank at $24,874.00; the motion passed unanimously. Any budget overage will be covered from the Reserve Fund and the Board will follow State tank removal guidance.
The Board also approved a Letter of Intent to participate in the SFY26 Municipal Roads Grants-in-Aid Program and authorized the Selectboard Chair to sign the letter. Additionally, the Board approved an excess vehicle weight permit for Riggs Distler & Company and authorized the Town Administrator to execute the permit on the Town’s behalf.
