USD 417 adopts updated Student Code of Conduct and device/communication policies
Summary
The board adopted an updated Student Code of Conduct and policies governing student personal electronic devices and staff online activities; the adoptions were unanimous and included incorporation into handbook language for 2026–27.
At the July 13 meeting the board adopted the updated Student Code of Conduct and approved policies JCDC (Student Personal Electronic Communications Devices) and IIBGC (Staff Online Activities). The policies will be incorporated into the district handbooks for the 2026–27 school year; the motion to adopt the device and staff communication policies was made by Kelsey Hartman and carried 7-0.
The board also approved the classified, licensed and substitute handbooks with edits to be made prior to August approval (classified sick leave and a January TD holiday date will be edited). The student code of conduct adoption was recorded as unanimous.
