USD 417 board authorizes notice to exceed revenue-neutral rate; public hearing set for Sept. 14

At its July 13 meeting the USD 417 Board of Education authorized district staff to notify the county clerk of the district's intent to exceed the revenue neutral rate for fiscal year 2027 and scheduled a public hearing on the matter for Sept. 14, 2026 at 5:45 p.m., with the budget hearing to follow at 5:50 p.m. The motion, made by Kelsey Hartman and seconded by Patty Talley, carried 7-0.
The notice starts the statutorily required public process when a district plans to adopt a budget above the revenue neutral rate; the district will present formal budget documents at the scheduled hearings. Board action included setting both the revenue neutral rate hearing and the budget hearing times and locations (District Office).
