USD 417 staff presented assessments and planning materials at the June 8 meeting. Valerie Gehrer summarized FastBridge screening growth data (reading, math and social‑emotional measures administered three times a year) and noted results were viewed in the How's School Going? platform to highlight growth and achievement by building. Superintendent Tyson Eslinger and Gehrer also presented year‑end feedback from 12 district site council members emphasizing recruiting/retaining high‑quality staff, clearer communications, focused priorities and continued progress.
Separately, Eslinger presented a building cost analysis (enrollment, operating expenditures, per‑pupil and personnel costs, and average class sizes) that will inform budget development. The board was notified that six students have requested early graduation and that action on those requests will be taken at the July meeting in accordance with policy.
