Selectboard appoints Bear LeVangie as Lincoln Tree Warden, deputy named

At the April 21 Selectboard meeting, Bear LeVangie introduced herself and described her professional background in arboriculture. LeVangie told the board she has "been an arborist since 2003 and teaches these skills," and recommended forming a Tree Board to expand community engagement on tree care and policy.
The Selectboard nominated and approved LeVangie as Tree Warden and Ben Freund as Tree Warden Deputy (motions by Tim McGowan, second by Joe Martell; both PASSED 5/0/0). LeVangie provided draft language for a Tree Ordinance and an Arbor Day proclamation and agreed to send information to the town website for public posting. The appointment gives the town a point person to coordinate tree maintenance, ordinance development and community outreach on canopy issues.
