Wolfger Schneider told the Selectboard during public comment that road flooding on Orchard Road has recently worsened and that ‘‘2 ft gullies have formed’’ at four locations, which he attributes to runoff from construction of a private airstrip on adjacent property. The board discussed the complaint with Schneider and Chair Tim McGowan asked the resident to provide photographs and set a joint site visit to assess the problem and next steps.
The Selectboard did not take formal action at the meeting but identified the immediate next step as a jointly scheduled site visit with Schneider and Selectboard members. The exchange left the cause and potential remedies unresolved; the board will rely on the site inspection and photographic evidence to determine whether drainage repairs, enforcement action or other measures are appropriate.
