USD 417 holds executive sessions on personnel and accepts a staff resignation

The USD 417 Board of Education recessed the special meeting April 27 to hold executive sessions under the non-elected personnel exception to the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA) to discuss an individual employee's performance with Superintendent Tyson Eslinger.
The board recessed at 7:40 p.m., returned briefly, then entered an executive session at 7:43 p.m. and returned to open session at 8:03 p.m. The board then moved into a second 10-minute executive session at 8:04 p.m., returning to open session at 8:14 p.m. Both motions to enter executive session were made by Board member Patty Talley and seconded by Board member TinaRae Scott and carried on unanimous votes.
After returning to open session, the board approved a motion by Patty Talley, seconded by James Blue, to accept the resignation of Tasha Green effective at the end of the school year. The vote was recorded as 6–0 in favor.
