The USD 417 Board of Education voted unanimously April 27 to extend the district's bond survey period and introduce a paper survey option. The motion to extend the survey by providing paper surveys for distribution and to run the survey for two additional weeks was made by Board member Travis Schweger and seconded by Board member Kelsey Hartman; the vote was 6–0 in favor (James Blue, Kelsey Hartman, Patty Talley, Terry Powell, TinaRae Scott, Travis Schweger).
Board members indicated the paper option and extension aim to broaden participation after presenters noted the online sample of 265 responses was not representative of the larger electorate. The board directed staff to proceed with paper distribution and report back on participation figures and results.
