USD 417 honors state placers and champions at May board meeting

USD 417 recognized multiple student teams and individuals, including the Bravettes (KSHSAA Gameday Dance Champions), the Cheer squad (Gameday Cheer runner-ups), and the Boys Powerlifting team (Boys Team State Champions) plus individual state champions Blaise French, Gunner Gleason, and Kayden Hewitt.
At the May 11 meeting the USD 417 Board of Education celebrated student achievements across activities and athletics. The Bravettes were recognized as KSHSAA Gameday Dance Champions; the Cheer squad earned KSHSAA Gameday Cheer Runner-Up honors; and the Boys Powerlifting team won the Boys Team State Championship. Individual powerlifting state champions Blaise French, Gunner Gleason and Kayden Hewitt were acknowledged in person.
Forensics competitors and music performers also received recognition: Ayla Schweger and Anna Bachura placed sixth in forensics and Nex Priest and Sylas Lira received superior (1) ratings in music. The board used the Student Spotlight to highlight these achievements and thanked staff and coaches for their support.
