Council hears update on water-plant options as USG inspects reservoir

Ernie Chase, who spoke during the 'Unfinished Business' water-plant item, handed out a packet from an engineering firm outlining qualifications and said he was waiting on quotes from several firms. "I have not gotten any quotes yet," Chase said. He added that USG will inspect the reservoir to identify repairs and that the city could put reservoir work on a contract similar to its water-tower maintenance arrangement.
No procurement decision was made at the Jan. 13 meeting. Council members requested additional proposals and directed staff to return with the competitive quotes and scope estimates at a future meeting so the council can compare options prior to authorizing work or a contract award.
