Votes and actions: committee approved forwarding ordinances, abatements and election agreements

The Finance, Legal and Public Safety Committee recorded affirmative voice votes on the following items and forwarded them as recommended to the City Council or future council meetings:

• Ordinance No. 788 — remove fireworks licensing from fire-prevention code and place permitting in business-license chapter (forwarded to City Council with recommendation of approval). • Ordinance No. 789 — add fireworks sales permit to business-license chapter (forwarded to City Council with recommendation of approval). • Multiple abatements from the Pennington County Department of Equalization for parcels where mobile homes were removed or destroyed (forwarded to City Council with recommendation of approval). • Corrective abatements to implement energy-exemption status approved at the county level but not applied in city assessment records (forwarded to City Council with recommendation of approval). • Polling-place agreements for the 2026 election cycle with Pennington County, Mead County and Douglas School District (forwarded to City Council with recommendation of approval). • Sponsorship/donation applications to permit reduced community-center fees for election entities; Pennington and Mead sponsorships forwarded to future council meeting; a late Douglas School District sponsorship application (03/03/2026) was recommended for same-night council consideration.
