Grant administrator: MRDAF program reopens; TSET leadership, funding changes could affect future grants

The Grant Administrator told the Board that the Municipal Road Drilling Activity Fund (MRDAF) grant program has reopened and requested direction on whether to submit an application for roadway repairs related to oil and gas activity. She asked whether the Board wished to approach the Lincoln County Commissioners about contributing the required 25% match; a previous application for similar work had not been approved.
The administrator also reported leadership changes at TSET: the TSET Executive Director resigned and interim leadership is in place. Pending state legislation was discussed that could reallocate a portion of TSET's endowment to higher education programs subject to public vote, and that TSET had recently tabled Built Environment grant awards (none of which had included small rural communities). The Grant Administrator plans to monitor developments and attend upcoming meetings; no new TSET grant opportunities have been released at this time.
