Officials told the Board May 18 that construction and delivery of slip‑on tanker units for the Fire Department have experienced delays. Leslie Wilbourn advised trustees that work is stalled while tracks necessary for installation are awaited and that the contractor has been behind schedule; the first fire truck was taken to the contractor in November and remains delayed.
Leslie Wilbourn said the grant provides a two‑year completion period and the Town is still within that allowed timeframe; town staff indicated the intent to complete the project during the current fiscal year if materials and contractor timelines allow. The Meeker Industrial Authority also reported seeking opportunities to invest a small $2,000 balance into potential property projects and continuing planning discussions.
