Becky Walden told the council Backyard Discovery donated a 12x24 gazebo to install at North Park and Homecoming provided two picnic tables to accompany it. Becky asked for volunteers and said the group is pursuing grants for a new concession stand with restrooms.
City plant staff provided a quote from Sprenkle's to pour an 18x30 concrete pad for about $4,000; Allan Adleman moved to approve Sprenkle's contract at that price and the council carried the motion. The council discussed forming a committee to decide placement of the gazebo and equipment and noted some playground equipment is ready to be installed.
The clerk also moved a separate item to spend $75 on flowers for the late treasurer Brenda Howard's memorial; that motion carried.
