The city council adopted Resolution 2026-09 on April 14, 2026, condemning the property at 410 S. Military after reviewing photographic evidence and statements about the building's condition.
Attorney Marshall Blinzler opened the hearing; realtor Chuck Parson, representing absent owner Sandra DoffSotta, said he had not entered the structure and could not assess whether it was salvageable. Chief of Police Joey Adelman told the council the building was “dangerous and a liability” and that there was no way to secure it. Council members noted the house has been vacant since 2011. Allan Adelman moved to adopt the resolution, Ken Collins seconded, and the motion carried.
The council recorded no plan for rehabilitation during the hearing and directed that the property be treated as condemned. The motion to condemn was carried without a recorded roll-call tally in the minutes.
