Jan Molinaro told council he is concerned about a permit application to convert the former Moose Lodge into a nightclub or event center with an alcohol license, saying similar conversions have led to complaints and police responses when neighborhoods developed nearby.
"This has the potential of being in a residential area and being, probably pretty loud," Molinaro said, and he asked council to review the municipal code under noise control (chapter 8) before such a venue is permitted. He noted past examples where leases and alcohol service at other venues generated calls for police and community complaints and said he would watch the permitting process closely.
