The Board voted to surplus two Meeker police vehicles—a 2009 Charger (VIN 2B3KA43TI98H525923) and an early-2000s Crown Victoria (VIN 2FAFP71W25X114050)—and to accept two Crown Victoria vehicles donated from the CPN Police Department (VINs 2FABP7BV0BX122857 and 2FABP7BV7BX122855). Lanny Thompson moved the surplus and acceptance motions; both passed with Thompson, Orman, Head and Weber voting in favor.
During reports Town Administrator Jeff Wilbourn reported citation counts (six citations in February, two in March to date) and Assistant Chief Wilson noted active cases including two child abuse investigations and one aggravated DUI proceeding through the courts. After an executive session on personnel matters, the Board returned to open session and approved hiring Layne Walters as a Meeker Police Officer by recorded vote.
