MEDA reviews plans for Cherokee properties; USDA grant delayed by inflation

At its Feb. 12, 2024 meeting, the Medford Economic Development Authority (MEDA) heard a report from its Economic Development Director that January’s primary focus was developing plans for the buildings at 111 and 113 E. Cherokee St. Staff reported that completion of the 81 Feed & Seed USDA grant has been delayed due to inflation and the need for a modification request. The director also said the ODOT Transportation Alternatives Grant application is still moving forward and that staff attended the Oklahoma Department of Commerce’s Sites Ready rollout in Enid on Feb. 12.
MEDA approved the Jan. 8, 2024 minutes and recorded a January financial report of $166,018.57 and claims of $161,689.81; motions carried unanimously. The minutes note ongoing work to register eligible Medford sites with the Department of Commerce.
