The executive committee reviewed a $2,000,000 budget amendment that will bring a regional radio communications grant through the county to the sheriff's office and Emergency Management, with participating municipalities providing local match dollars to be passed through.
The county manager described the package as a collaborative effort among law‑enforcement and emergency agencies in Dunn County: "That is a grant that covers all of the law enforcement and emergency agencies in Dunn County," he said, and staff explained the county will temporarily front some local shares and set up reimbursement schedules so smaller municipalities can participate.
Committee members noted the amount is large and asked staff to ensure long‑term obligations and repayment schedules are documented. The committee approved the set of budget amendments, including this radio grant, and the sheriff's office will receive program funding once the county board processes the amendments.
