Megan Rodriguez, identified herself as "the community and economic development agent here for Willacy County," asked the court to adopt a proclamation recognizing Prairie View A&M University's 150th anniversary.
"My name is Megan Rodriguez. I'm the community and economic development agent here for Willacy County," Rodriguez told the court and said she and counterpart Rolando Zamora are committed to supporting local residents, farmers, youth and businesses through extension and outreach programs. The court approved the proclamation and the judge agreed to a photo for the university's marketing materials.
A commissioner moved and the court voted 'aye' to carry the proclamation; the motion was seconded and recorded as carried on the docket. The item was handled as a consent/ceremonial action and required no further county appropriation.
