Mulberry approves park culvert, poles and accepts donated tree cleanup; playset and gazebo projects advance

Council discussed several park and infrastructure items. Allan Adelman moved to purchase two 12-inch culvert tubes and a load of rock for the park; Ken Collins seconded and the motion carried. Ernie estimated the pipe cost at about $500 plus the current cost of rock.
Ernie reported Foxwell Holdings LLC inspected trees at the ballpark and offered a $4,000 bid but reduced $2,000 as a donation, and neighborhood volunteers Nancy Christian and her daughter Melissa joined cleanup efforts. The council also approved purchasing six 30-foot and two 40-foot electric poles with wire on a motion by Allan Adelman, seconded by TJ Duncan. A playset purchased with grant funds is in storage along with a donated gazebo; councilors said they still need a concrete pad and a plan for installation. Randy said he is coordinating a family fishing night through Kansas Parks and Wildlife and that the fire department’s Easter egg hunt is scheduled for April 5 at 10 a.m. at the ballpark.
