Selectboard outlines $750,000 paving plan, prioritizes Winhall Hollow Road

Road Foreman Josh Dryden updated the board on April fuel usage and equipment status and described the town's paving priorities. The road crew used 870 gallons of fuel for equipment and 140 gallons for the Transfer Station in April; Dryden also reported an excavator breakdown on Route 100 that officials expected to repair the next day.
Selectboard members said the town has $750,000 available for paving this year plus a $200,000 grant. The primary project will be Winhall Hollow Road; grant funds are required to be used on Landgrove Road. The plan calls for replacing 10–20 badly damaged culverts along Winhall Hollow Road before paving and using a chip-seal process intended to extend the life of paving by approximately five years. The board said Hunter Excavating will pave Old School Street while working on the new Town Office parking lot, and that RFPs for projects will be posted shortly.
