Road Foreman Josh Dryden told the board the Highway Department needs a replacement for a 2005 Mack 6-wheeler and prefers buying from the same source to ensure parts and maintenance consistency. Dryden asked to keep the fleet on an eight‑year rotation and recommended a sole-source arrangement to avoid varied suppliers.
Taylor Prouty moved to accept Reeds' proposal for $169,800 and a Viking installation for $107,800, totaling $277,600, and to authorize the Chair to sign paperwork on behalf of the Board; James Ameden seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The down payment will come from the equipment reserve and the remainder will be financed from the general fund; Dryden will discuss trade‑in terms and keep the current truck until the new one arrives.
