Her presentation covered agency structure (six offices across the state), confidential consultation services (33 consultants across multiple offices, including 20 safety and 13 health consultants), and voluntary programs designed to help employers reduce hazards and, in some cases, gain inspection exemptions.
Stapleton also described the enforcement side: about 85 compliance officers across the field offices who prioritize inspections based on imminent danger, fatalities, catastrophes and programmed scheduling lists by industrial classification. She highlighted program innovations (program inspections for cause created by a 2023 bill) and the agency's public education materials and streaming library in English and Spanish. Committee members praised QR codes and multimedia outreach that make materials easier to share with employers and labor organizers.
