Member reports backlog improvements ahead of legislative session

Committee member Martin Piccione reported that legislative fiscal staff recently requested updated reporting on the board’s case-resolution trend lines ahead of the legislative session. He said the committee and staff have ‘‘chipped away’’ at the complaints backlog and expect to present updated backlog metrics in a tentative budget presentation on Feb. 12.
Piccione said recent staff turnover had previously impacted some performance measures but that the committee has recovered and will prepare a substantive response with staff. Chair Honey Moffitt thanked board staff and volunteers for their work on case processing and encouraged members to watch for legislation the board is proposing during the legislative session.
