At the Jan. 10 meeting Angie Hunt, legal counsel, explained changes in public meetings law that affect how the committee records votes. She told members the options and the current expectation that, if the recording is to serve as minutes, each person’s vote must be recorded on the record by name.
"The only way we become sufficient for minutes is if every person votes by name," Hunt said, describing why staff is moving to a practice of calling each member by name and having them state their vote. Committee members acknowledged the change and proceeded to record roll-call votes by name during subsequent motions.
