Clerk reports trunk-or-treat turnout, community center rentals and adopts record retention policy

City Clerk Lana Johnson presented several administrative and community items at the Nov. 14 meeting. The council voted to adopt a document retention schedule consistent with the Kansas Historical Society records schedule. "Christinsen moved, seconded by Gilkison, to adopt a record retention policy that follows the Kansas Historical Society record retention schedule. Motion carried 4-0," the minutes record.
The clerk also reported community center rental activity for November and December, noted a thank-you card from the New Strawn Branch Library for trunk-or-treat support (11 "trunks" and about 100 children participated), recommended renewing the Coffey County Chamber membership ($250) and purchasing a 1/4-page ad in The Coffey County Republican ($230); council approved both expenditures by recorded motion.
