MLAC reviews 2025 accomplishments, says four supported bills became law

MLAC members reviewed 2025 activity — 17 full meetings, 17 subcommittees and tracking of hundreds of bills — and noted four bills they supported became law (House Bill 2799, House Bill 2000, House Bill 2802 and Senate Bill 904).
Committee staff presented MLAC's 2025 accomplishments, including 17 full committee meetings and 17 subcommittee meetings, robust public participation (an average of about 55 attendees at full meetings) and active legislative tracking. "Of those 3,466 bills, WCD tracked 183 that had a potential impact to workers' compensation," staff said, and the committee formally supported five bills; four of those supported bills became law: House Bill 2799, House Bill 2000, House Bill 2802 and Senate Bill 904.
Members noted the committee's presentations and outreach during the year, including the biannual permanent-partial-disability report, a presentation on exclusive remedy, and the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences annual briefing. Staff and co-chairs said the committee will carry lessons from that year of work into the coming session and will continue to coordinate with stakeholders and other divisions in DCBS.
