Board highlights full staffing and hires communications specialist

Board members introduced and welcomed recent hires and acknowledged that staffing levels have returned to normal after a long period of turnover. Heidi Steiner introduced herself as the board’s new HR client agency manager and said she brings more than 30 years of state HR experience. A newer staff member identified only as Nicole introduced herself briefly. Prince Dodder, the board’s new compliance and communications specialist, said he is an "award‑winning journalist" with prior newsroom experience and will support the board’s communications and outreach work.
Members said the hires will allow the agency to shift from crisis management to forward‑looking work: updating the website, publishing concise public meeting summaries, and implementing a communications plan. The board agreed to defer a full communications presentation until the February 2025 meeting when the communications lead can present a draft plan.
