Boardman budget includes $600,000 this year to repair dry wells, staff says

Staff told council the city budgeted $600,000 this fiscal year to repair several failing dry wells — Juniper, River Ridge, Anderson and Columbia (in front of Boardman Foods) — and said those projects are slated for work orders and maintenance this year. The funding is separate from the proposed drainage-swale ordinance.
At the Nov. 4 workshop staff reported that the fiscal year budget includes $600,000 allocated for repairs to several dry wells and stormwater assets. Staff named priority locations as Juniper, River Ridge, Anderson and Columbia (in front of Boardman Foods) and said the work is intended to stop chronic pooling at known trouble spots.
A staff member told council, "In this year's budget, you guys allocated $600,000 to go and fix very specific areas..." and said the city expects those repairs to be completed during the budget year. Staff distinguished the capital work on dry wells (city-owned storm infrastructure) from the proposed drainage-swale ordinance, which addresses private, abutting swales and owner maintenance. The survey work with Anderson Perry and the city's GIS will identify assets and feed the maintenance work-order program.
