The New Strawn City Council on Feb. 26 approved $1,300 to Wright Tree Service to perform a road bore for a new water service on Kafir Road. Councilmember David Christiansen moved the approval; Councilmember Johnny Hernandez seconded the motion and the council recorded a 4-0 vote in favor.
The action was taken at a special monthly meeting that Mayor Rhonda Taylor called to order at 5:02 p.m. The council list of attendees included Councilmembers Johnny Hernandez, David Christiansen, Stephanie Baker and Butch Gilkison (participating by phone); Jeanne Haas was absent. The minutes note the purpose of the expenditure as boring work to allow a new service connection on Kafir Road.
City Clerk Lana Johnson and Maintenance Operator Steven Dwight were listed as staff present. After approving the bore payment, Councilmember Stephanie Baker moved to adjourn; Councilmember David Christiansen seconded and the meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m. The recorded vote on both motions was 4-0.
