City staff reported that an application to the state cybersecurity pass-through program resulted in a partial award: the city did not receive the $25,000 request for multi-factor authentication and immutable backup, but was awarded $5,000 to transition the city domain to a .gov address.
Staff said the city reserved the amityoregon.gov domain and will work with a vendor to implement the transition; the council moved and approved the grant agreement that reimburses expenses up to $5,000. Staff also noted there were initial administrative delays at the state level and that the larger federal/state funding pool for the program was substantially larger than the city's award.
