Martin and others said the bill contains contradictory pieces—some parts the profession desires and other parts that would remove long-established education and oversight—and noted the Florida governor lacks a line-item veto, making the package an all-or-nothing outcome.
Members expressed concern about national spillover effects if a large state moved to remove licensing oversight and CPE requirements, and they referenced parallel reductions in continuing education in North Carolina as another monitoring item. No board action was taken; members were asked to continue monitoring and engage if the issue materializes.
