Council approves community donations, free pet tags and notes KDWP fish donation
Summary

During the Oct. 10 meeting, the New Strawn City Council approved several small community-service and event items. Council reallocated Spooky Stroll funds to the New Strawn Library, adding $50 to make the total $300. Jeanne Haas moved and the motion carried 4-0.
Separately, the council approved a request from Casa to donate two fishing licenses valid through Dec. 31, 2025; the licenses may be two adult licenses or one adult and one child license. The council also approved offering free pet tags to spayed and neutered animals between Jan. 2 and Jan. 17, 2025, with proof of current rabies vaccination. Parks & Recreation reported that the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) would donate approximately 250 catfish next week; the maintenance operator expressed thanks to KDWP.
These items were approved by unanimous votes and are intended to support community programming and small events.
