"I did notice that I've got a program that... shows private and public property. It shows that they purchased about 18 18.5 acres of that field," a participant said, and another member confirmed "18.45." The Moderator said staff will verify ownership and consider including adjacent Cemetery District land in the deep dive.
Participants noted the prior owner had resisted development for price reasons; the acquisition by Good Shepherd changes that local dynamic and provides an opportunity to partner on a master plan for a strategically located parcel in downtown Boardman.
The committee asked staff and the consultant to gather precise parcel boundaries, ownership records and any existing development plans so the Good Shepherd and Frederickson sites can be explored during the master-plan workshops.
