Bandon approves 2025–26 revenue-sharing grants to local groups

The Bandon council approved a package of recommended grants from its 2025–26 state/federal revenue-sharing funds after a brief public hearing.
Chair read the proposed awards and moved the item for approval. “Then moved by Madeline, seconded by Josh that we approve these requests for the 2526 federal revenue sharing,” the Chair said during the motion. The list presented to the council included: Bandon Arts Council ($3,500), Bandon Feeds the Hungry ($3,500), Historical Society Museum ($3,500), Bandon Lyons ($1,500), Abandoned Playhouse ($3,500), Abandoned Showcase ($2,000), Abandoned Veterans Honor Guard ($3,200), Circles in the Sand ($3,500), Dial-a-Ride ($3,500), Food and Faith ($3,500), Friends of Bandon Parks and Recreation ($3,500), Greater Bandon Association ($3,500), Community Garden ($3,500), The Safe Project ($3,500) and EAT ($1,000).
After the motion, the Chair called for a vote and recorded the result as unanimous. Council members said the allocations leave a small contingency and create capacity to build an emergency fund the city can use for a future community emergency response (CERT) program.
The council encouraged groups that asked for funding to supply fuller applications in future cycles when narratives or participation counts were incomplete. The packet and the council’s discussion will be included in the meeting record.
