Select Board notes modest 2026 budget overages for legal fees and public assistance

During the July 13 meeting Select Board member Charles M. Pyle III reported that legal fees for general counsel have exceeded the 2026 budget by $3,700 and that the Public Assistance budget is over by $5,900. Pyle also noted that part-time wages in the Police Department are currently below budget and will continue to be monitored.
David Gleason, representing the Budget & Advisory Committee, said he was pleased with overall budget performance and that the committee plans to meet with department heads to discuss their budgets and offer assistance where needed. The board did not adopt any mid-year transfers at this meeting; minutes record monitoring and follow-up as the course of action.
