Council extends fall cleanup to three weekends; SheScraps to collect appliances and metal

Staff proposed extending the city’s fall cleanup schedule in response to resident feedback that dumpsters filled quickly in prior events. Council approved bringing in two dumpsters and extending the period to 17 days across three weekends, beginning Friday, Sept. 13, to give residents more disposal opportunities.
Staff also noted a local scrap collector, SheScraps, will accept large metal items and appliances set beside the dumpsters; SheScraps is a proprietor who lives north/northeast of town and has offered to collect rims, appliances and other metal free of charge to the city. Council asked staff to post the schedule and instructions publicly so residents know dates and acceptable items.
