The staff member (Speaker 5) told the council that "Burbach Aquatics roughly quoted me when I first called them ... anywhere from 15 to $30,000 to do a pressure test in the pool," and that a local contractor from Des Moines offered to do a site visit and perform a pressure test at an hourly rate of $125 plus travel expenses.
Staff said the Burbach engineer raised concerns about plumbing and skimmer equalizer piping that could not be confirmed without pressure testing; staff will have the local contractor perform the pressure test on Saturday and then forward the results to Burbach for input on next steps. The council discussed liner and pump-house conditions, and staff noted Eco Finish (a spray-in liner option) had limited installers near the region and that a full liner replacement had been estimated in prior discussions at roughly $90,000–$99,000 (noted as an earlier estimate). The council asked staff to report back with test results and updated estimates at the next meeting.
