Council considered and approved Change Order #1 to the sanitary sewer cleaning and televising contract. The change order extends the substantial completion date from Nov. 27 to Dec. 27 and moves final completion from Dec. 31 to Jan. 31 to account for contract delays and CCTV timing.
The presenter said the contractor needs to store a heated jet‑truck on cold nights and negotiated a storage arrangement at a local facility that will charge about $100 per night; the meeting estimated roughly 14 nights (about $1,400) though the final amount will be reconciled at project end. The presenter also explained a $1,700 allowance to cut the top off a 10‑inch PVC pipe to create a standard manhole opening so cleaning equipment can be inserted.
"That's why the total increased price is estimated to be $3,100," the presenter said, citing the storage and pipe‑access costs; the change order raises the contract from $89,702.40 to $92,802.40. A council member moved to approve the change order and the motion carried.
