The consent agenda was approved on a motion by Council Member Jeanette Swarts, seconded by Jeff Tice; the motion was declared carried.
Mayor Brian D. Stromgren read a proclamation concerning Direct Support Professionals Week. Council Member Cathryn Houghton then moved, seconded by Mike Gilliland, to declare Sept. 8–14 as Direct Support Professionals Week in recognition of those providers' contributions; the motion carried. City Manager Katie Hodge provided brief community notices: a reminder about the Mayor's Summit in Melvern on Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., a citywide garage sale Sept. 20–21, and that City Hall will close at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 for an employee meeting. The meeting adjourned at Council Member Jeanette Swarts' request; the record was attested by City Clerk Amy Woodward.
