The council approved payment of a Chemquest invoice in the amount of $10,139.75 on a motion by Eric Tincher, seconded by Jeff Tice; the motion was declared carried.
The council approved the appointments of Hannah Punches and Lacey Glover to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board (motion by Susan Smith, second by Eric Tincher). The meeting record also lists two new hires: Seth Quaney (Sanitation Department), start date Aug. 12, 2024; and Taelynn Finan (Police Department), start date Aug. 15, 2024. Informational items included a ribbon-cutting for the solar farm on Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m., a Mayor's Summit scheduled Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Melvern Community Center, and information about the LKM conference (handout provided).
