A repair estimate of about $5,600 was reported but staff said a new purchase would cost roughly $7,400; lease options (36-month vs 48-month terms) and service agreement costs were discussed as alternatives. Commissioners asked staff to seek discounts and return with a cost-comparison before committing to a purchase or lease.
"I'll make a motion to support the JAG 2026 Toughbook grant for the sheriff's office," the Chair said before the board approved the motion. Regarding the copier, staff and commissioners agreed to explore discounted pricing and to consider in-house service options that could be cheaper than an extended service agreement.
