Commissioners authorize moving forward under contract on 13.49-acre parcel purchase for $15,000

The buyer’s deadlines in the contract were slightly extended to accommodate staff timing.
Staff said no appraisal was recommended given the modest purchase price and existing facility on the parcel, and noted an existing water well on site that could not be modified without owner approval. "I would imagine we could close on it within 6 minutes pretty easily," staff said while describing scheduling for closing and the need for a later appropriation for the purchase price. Commissioners moved to proceed under contract; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Staff will return to execute closing documents and present the appropriation ordinance or resolution authorizing the county to fund the purchase.
