Rowdy Larkins reported on the status of multiple building and project permits. He said the West KOA permit is under plan review, Scott Sherman’s 277 Main Street project is progressing, Heidi Patha’s project at 355 W Main is on hold pending payment and fire suppression, and Greg Croft’s Suites of Lava at 63 S 1st E requires a reissued permit and payment of fees. Larkins also reported that Travis Nay will not proceed with his project and has declined to pay fees.
The minutes record a progress update on Mark Oyler’s retaining wall and handrail work: Oyler is redesigning the handrail after difficulty removing a large tree trunk; once cut to ground level he will call the state for inspection. The council did not take action on these permit updates during the Oct. 10 meeting.
